Playlist for Life – Dementia Friends

As part of our Dementia Friends Initiative, we have registered as a help point for ‘Playlist for Life’ a music and dementia charity, which is aimed at people living with dementia.

There are many benefits creating a personalised playlist for someone living with dementia.

The resources include:

  1. “Music for dementia” leaflet
  2. “Create the soundtrack for your life” workbook
  3. “Conversation starters” A4 flyer
  4. “100 Years: A Century of Song” – top songs for every year from 1915 to 2015
  5. A wealth of information and advice, plus step-by-step instructions on how to create a playlist which can be accessed via the Library’s computers or at home via https://www.playlistforlife.org.uk/

The pamphlets to support the initiative can be found on the Dementia Information Hub display near to reception, and the “100 Years – A Century of Song” book is with the other dementia books in the health section of the library (it is also online via https://www.playlistforlife.org.uk/the-100-years-book/)
