Memory Café Friends visit to Beamish

The Memory Café Friends, enjoyed a visit to Beamish Museum on Monday 15th May

The sun was absolutely gorgeous when the Memory Café Friends visited Beamish Museum. The friends enjoyed a lively group singalong in the 1950s Welfare Hall with a few old favourites, plus a chance to show off some dance moves. Then time to explore the 1950s street, and 1900’s town – some had a cuppa in the Tea Rooms while others opted for an ice-cream; going in and out of the shops, dentist surgery, and Norman Cornish’s house; trying out the sideshows in the fairground or sitting in the park lapping up the sunshine. Lots of big smiles. A massive “thank you” to the Cleadon & District Rotary Club for sponsoring our trip down memory lane.
