The Sewing Machine by Natalie Fergie

Reviewed by: Pam Griffin

The Singer Sewing Machine – a household name that evokes memories and images of past times.

This book traces the private stories of 4 remarkable women from 1911 up until 2016 and how the sewing machine figured in their lives.

The portrayal of the different timelines and the place each character plays within it is told in a sympathetic and fascinating way.

The book has a happy and surprising conclusion.

I would highly recommend this book. A lovely read and very enjoyable.
